Agreement has been reached between the Maltese health authorities and Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals for the training of doctors in various fields of specialisation.

Health Minister Joseph cassar said Maltese doctors will be able to train and work in Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals for between six months and a year.

A number of doctors are already undergoing training in Brighton in general surgery, gynaecology and paediatrics.

Dr Cassar said that over the past three years, Maltese doctors had also been able to study and train in Oxford University,  Kent and Northampton, Grampian, Louvain and the ISMETT Centre in Palermo.
