The Maltese swimmers ended their Rome World Championships commitments with another national record. The boys' 4 x 100 metres medley relay team, made up of Mark Sammut, Andrea Agius, Neil Agius and Edward Caruana Dingli, swam their morning heat in 4 minutes 08.49 seconds. This time was 4.78 seconds faster than the previous mark set last April.

It was the eighth national limit established by our swimmers whose dedication and hard work towards peaking for this world event brought deserved reward for this group of four boys and four girls under the charge of head coach Andy Colbourn.

The swimmers and officials are expected back from Rome today.
