The following are the top stories in national newspapers today.

Times of Malta says the assessment of the proposed 40-storey hotel at Fort Cambridge in Sliema submitted to the Planning Authority concludes that the environmental and cultural impact would be of high significance, with no possible measures to limit the damage. In another story, it says students sitting for an English A level mock examination recently were shocked to find one of their tasks was to write an argumentative piece on why illegal immigration is a “crisis for our country”.

The Malta Independent says Malta has been voted among fan and bookie favourites as best host for Eurovision 2017.

In-Nazzjon says the Nationalist Party has presented a document which offers 35 immediate solutions to the traffic problems.
