Times of Malta reports that Air Malta captains and first officers fly an average of 55 hours a month, well below the EU safety threshold. The secondary story says the police have been informed about a possible scam after a British man was sold a jeep registered as having been scrapped by its previous owner.

The Malta Independent says France is in mourning after more than 80 people were killed in the Bastille Day attack by a lone truck driver. It also quotes a Baħrija resident expressing frustration at the avalanche of traffic fines dished out as a result of road closures. 

L-oriżżont quotes outgoing NCHE chairman Martin Scicluna that the Sadeen Group had to accept the conditions imposed to set up the American University of Malta or else pull out from Malta. 

In-Nazzjon says that Air Malta workers were feeling in limbo amid privatisation plans of the national airline.
