These are the main stories in today's local newspapers:

Times of Malta reports that work on a multi-million euro project to further develop the Safi Aviation Park has been delayed, and some EU funding risks being lost as a result. It also reports that requests to publish the findings of an investigation into a development permit on agricultural land involving a minister’s consultant have been refused by the authorities.

In-Nazzjon says the government is choosing to remain silent about maritime studies in connection with the LNG tankers in Marsaxlokk as the new power station construction continues.

L-orizzont says that the Allied Newspapers investigative board created in the wake of revelations involving its former managing director had chosen to adopt a different attitude with other directors. Another report says the former Marsa power station had effectively "killed off" the town.

The Malta Independent reports that Police Commissioner Michael Cassar is ready to leave his post after just one year in charge because of "health problems". It also says there was a drop of 2.6 per cent in foreign students who visited Malta in 2015 to learn English.
