The Consumers Association has called on Maltese nationals affected by Ryanair’s recent flight cancellations to complain with Ryanair and on its website.

It said there were Maltese who were affected including passengers who were returning from Pisa and found that their return flight had been cancelled.

The association said it had already contacted the European Federation of Consumer Associations for more information.

It said that the compensation the affected passengers were promised did not always cover all their expenses.

In their complaints, consumers should include all the expenses they had to incur because of the cancellation.

It said it had been informed that unless Ryanair provided a satisfactory reply, there were other alternatives the consumers could taken, including legal action.

This could also be done in Malta even through the Ryanair website stated that all issues had to be settled at Ireland’s courts, where the company was registered.

The organisation said that it had also uploaded on its website an app developed by the Norwegian Consumer Council which informed one of his rights during travel.
