Judge Anthony Borg Barthet has been elected to preside over the sixth chamber of the European Union's Court of Justice.

Currently in his second full term at the Court, this is Judge Borg Barthet’s second term as President of a chamber having already fulfilled this role between 2004 and 2005.

Judge Borg Barthet has been serving at the Court of Justice of the European Union since Malta’s accession to the EU in 2004 and was notably the first from among the judges of the newly acceded states at the time to preside over a chamber.
