An internationally acclaimed singer and songwriter of Christian music is being ordained priest by Archbishop Paul Cremona on Friday.

Robert Galea, 28, of Ibrag, commenced his studies at the Archbishop’s Seminary in 2003 but finished them at the Seminary in Melbourne.

His ordination is being held at St Julian’s Parish Church, at 6.30 p.m.

His recordings include three CD’s - the ‘Divine Mercy Chaplet’ (July 2010), and the albums ‘What a Day’ (2008) and ‘Closer’ (2006). He is currently working on a new album due for release later this year.

Following his ordination, Fr Galea will return to Australia to serve as a priest in the diocese of Sandhurst, Victoria.
