A group of around 100 Maltese people are at Copacabana Bay in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for the Youth Day celebrations.

The Maltese delegation is coordinated by the Kummissjoni Djocesana Zghazagh and led by Auxiliary Bishop Charles J. Scicluna.

After tonight's prayer vigil, the Maltese youths are camping on Copacabana to ensure they will have a place at the Mass to be celebrated by Pope Francis tomorrow, bringing the celebrations to an end.

Around two million people are expected to attend the Mass.
