Premier Capital, which is based in Malta and listed on the Malta Stock Exchange, has acquired the operation of all McDonald's restaurants in Romania for $65 million.

The acquisition waas made from McD Romania which owned and operated 66 restaurants in 21 cities, employing 4,000 people.

Premier Capital's subsidiaries already operate McDonald's restaurants in Malta, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Greece.

The McDonald's franchise has been present in Romania since 1995 and serves 65 million customers every year, or 189,000 every day.

Carmelo Hili, Daniel Boaje, Victor Tedesco and Dorian Desira, all directors of Premier Capital, will sit on the board of McD Romania.
