Auxiliary bishop Charles Scicluna is accompanying Maltese young people who are taking part in Youth Day celebrations in Brazil.

The official celebrations, which are being led by Pope Francis, start on Tuesday in Rio de Janeiro.

Bishop Scicluna is visiting a parish in Rolandia, in Parana, where Maltese young people are carrying out voluntary work in the community.

The parish, dedicated to St Joseph, is administered by Gozitan priest Fr Jose Agius.

This evening, the Maltese delegation will head to Jundiai where it will meet Maltese bishop Vincent Costa.
