A group of 11 Maltese dancers recently took part in Pop Corn, a dance show organised by the Nene Valley Dance Academy in Corby, UK.

The dancers, who all hailed from the Dance College Studios of Msida, received a personal commendation from the principal of this British school.

The choreography and performance by the Maltese students were excellent, principal Karen Robertson said. “This was a great opportunity for our students to learn and dance alongside their Maltese counterparts and we look forward to more cooperation between the two schools,” she said.

Kim Schembri, principal of Dance College Studios, accompanied the group and explained that such visits were invaluable in aiding the students to perform in front of foreign audiences and to enhance their skills.

“This initiative by our studios is being greatly appreciated by the students and their parents. The students express their commitment to such events through the tight discipline they follow during their training.”

Six dancers from Nene Valley Dance Academy will be coming to Malta next April as part of a student exchange programme. They will take lessons at Dance College Studios and will be accompanied by their school principal.

This trip follows another fruitful visit to Italy last June, when Dance College Studios students performed during a show organised by Areadanza school in Livorno.
