Malta snooker champion Alex Borg, runner-up Duncan Bezzina and Simon Zammit will represent the country in the European Snooker Championships, organised by the European Billiards and Snooker Association (EBSA), in Bad Wildungen, Germany, between May 28 and June 7.

These three players, along with Marlon Bugeja and Clayton Castaldi, will figure in the Euro Tour competition, also in Germany, between Monday and Tuesday. Here, 48 players will be bidding for the top four places which means direct entry to the WSA Challenge Tour.

Also making the trip to Germany are Tony Mifsud and Tony Brincat who will be playing in the EBSA tournament for veterans at the Martim Hotel. This competition has attracted no fewer than 32 players, most of whom former professionals.

The total prize-money for the European Championship is 10,400 euros. Referee William Mifsud will also form part of the Malta group. He will officiate matches in Germany.
