A Maltese literacy course for women starts on Wednesday. Sessions are held from 5 to 6.30 p.m. at the YWCA headquarters, 177, Valley Road, Msida. The course ends in June 2010.

It is run free of charge by YWCA (Malta). Applicants may be asked to attend a meeting before the course starts to ensure they are suitable and eligibile to attend.

Application forms may be obtained from YWCA office between Monday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and must be submitted by tomorrow.

The course is part of YWCA Malta's self-development programme to help women acquire literacy, basic computer, grooming, dressmaking, home management and home economics skills.
