An Android app developed by Maltese company 2X was featured among the best apps of the week by the authoritative website www.androidapps.com

“Android tablets will be big draws for business users, so cloud-sharing apps will be on the rise. 2X Client has a free and simple solution to connect your mobile device to your home or office computer. The remote desktop app currently supports Windows desktops, and supports a host of VDIs,” the website said.

The review was made in the same week when Google showed off its new Honeycomb 3.0, the Android operating system version designed for tablet computers.

2X said its app allows users to simply connect, via RDP (remote desktop protocol), to their remote Windows desktop and applications at work or home. It also connects to 2X VirtualDesktopServer v9 to seamlessly run published Windows applications such as Microsoft Office, published Windows desktops from Windows Terminal Server and virtual desktops hosted on all major VDIs including Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware or Citrix Xen.
