Transport minister Ian Borg added substance to the term 'high flying minister' by flying on a historic Tiger Moth biplane on Saturday.

Introduced in the early 1930s, the Tiger Moth served as a pilot training aircraft for the Royal Air Force.

The Malta Aviation Museum acquired its Tiger Moth in 2000 and restored it to an airworthy condition in 2009.  The aircraft has fabric-covered wings and two open cockpits.

Dr Borg described the experience as 'amazing.'
