Anthony Reale, a Maltapost member of staff who works at the Parcel/Courier section, was awarded Employee of the Year 2009 during an award winning ceremony organised by the company.

The award was presented to Anthony Reale by Maltapost chairman Joseph Said together with chief executive officer Joseph Gafà.

Mr Reale best displayed a number of qualities, which included improving service, dedication and building a good relationship with other members of staff and clients as well as a keen sense of humanitarism.

Joseph Paul Abela was awarded Best Delivery Employee, Sean Zammit Best Central Mail Room employee, Silvio Gauci Best Parcel/Courier employee, Daniel Magri Best Retail employee and Fabian Marston Best Administration employee.

Members of staff were also awarded for smart appearance, best-kept vehicle, best suggestion and for long service.

Maltapost's Qormi outlet won Best Delivery Hub in terms of quality of service, while the Qawra branch was selected as Best Branch for upkeep and cleanliness.

In short addresses, Mr Said and Mr Gafà emphasised the fact that an important aspect of a company's success lies in it having a strong HR structure. Such awards serve to motivate staff to improve the quality of service year after year.
