The Maltese U-19 national team will be participating in the Comen Cup in Larnaca, Cyprus, between Sep­tem­ber 24 and 25.

The squad is made up of Ryan Sciortino, David Abela, Michael Spiteri Staines, Michael Cordina, Christian Cluett, Jean Claude Cutajar, Gabriel Pace, Jordan Camilleri, Benjamin Lanzon, Zachary Mizzi, Kai Dowling and Dino Zammit.

Alex Attard had to withdraw due to a shoulder injury and a replacement will be announced shortly, the ASA said in a statement.

The squad will be accompanied by coach Anthony Farrugia and team doctor Stefan Camilleri. The delegation will be headed by Edgar Izzo, the ASA Treasurer. Maltese referee Alex DeRaffaele will officiate games during the tournament.

The other teams in the tournament will be Italy, who have just won the European Championship in their category in Stockholm, Greece, Cyprus and Egypt.

The ASA U-19 team is being supported by Emirates Airlines for the trip to Cyprus.
