Two Maltese are to form part of an observer mission to the Ukraine on behalf of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE)

They will be selected from the AFM and the Defence Department.

Twenty-two countries will be taking part in the observer mission.

Malta is chairman of the Forum for Security Cooperation of the OSCE.

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat is currently in Brussels for an urgent EU summit to discuss the situation in the Ukraine.
