The Malta Handball Association (MHA) has lined up a high-profile friendly for the national team against the Italy Under-23 side at the University Sports Hall this Sunday.

This match is part of the association’s 20th anniversary celebrations, the MHA said in a statement.

The Italians will use this friendly to intensify their preparations for the qualifiers of the 2017 World Championship, to be held in France.

For Malta senior coach Joseph Tanti, Sunday’s warm-up falls under the three-year development project undertaken by the local handball body.
