The Malta Volleyball Association will be hosting a qualifying round tournament from the women's European Championship at the Cottonera Sports Complex later on this month.

The national teams of Cyprus, Iceland and San Marino, together with Malta, will be facing each other between May 16 and 18 for a place in the final round in Luxembourg next year.

International referees from Italy, Cyprus, Iceland and San Marino, along with Malta's Marvic Micallef, will control the matches.

There are high hopes for the Maltese following encouraging results against Italian teams during a training camp in Salerno a few weeks ago.

May 16, 5.30 p.m. Iceland vs Cyprus; 8 p.m. San Marino vs Malta.

May 17, 5.30 p.m. Cyprus vs San Marino; 8 p.m. Malta vs Iceland.

May 18, 2 p.m. Iceland vs San Marino; 4.30 p.m. Cyprus vs Malta.
