Malta will field three teams in the World Pool Championships, to be held in Blackpool from June 28 to July 9.

This is the eighth time that the Malta Pool Association will have three teams competing in three different categories at the World Championships, namely men's open, U-21 and U-18.

The World Championships will be contested by teams from 13 countries.

These are England, Malta, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France, Kenya, South Africa, Australia, India, Uganda and West Indies.

The members of Malta's senior national team are Miguel Falzon, Clayton Attard, Kevin Mercieca, Jesmond Schembri, Wayne Bonnici, Antoine Cuschieri, Johann Attard, Chris Tabone and Maverick Zammit.

The U-21 squad is made up of Joseph Casha, Robert Fenech, Chris Domenici, Malcolm Azzopardi, John Paul Mifsud and Clifton Coleiro.

In the U-18 competition, Malta will be represented by Lyden Debono, Scott Muscat, Owen Cremona, Dylan Attard and Matthew Galdes.

Iris Cremona will fly Malta's flag in the women's tournament.

Vincent Degiorgio will head the Maltese contingent in Blackpool while Carmel Cilia and Manuel Lauro have been appointed team managers.

Besides their commitments in team events, all players will also take part in the individual championship and the prestigious World Masters Tournament.
