Bombs will rain down on Malta’s coast and towns in the third instalment of the popular computer game Just Cause.
Snapshots of Malta will feature in the game set to be released in December as the creators set their sights on the Mediterranean.
Elements from Malta, France, Greece, Spain and Corsica will be used to portray the fictional Mediterranean island of Medici under the control of dictator General Di Ravello who wants to dominate the world.
Game director Roland Lesterlin says in his YouTube diary that Malta was the perfect location inspiration for his upcoming game.
“We thought about what places in the world have cliffs that are over a hundred metres tall. What places in the world have crystal clear waters. France, Greece, Spain, Corsica and Malta.”
A map of Malta will be one of the biggest in the gaming industry.
The video diary even shows resemblance to the Blue Lagoon in Comino.
In the third game of the franchise, hero Rico Rodriguez returns to his homeland of Medici and sets out to destroy the dictator’s evil plans.
Just Cause 3 will be released on December 1, 2015, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
