Malta will be buying vaccines against swine flu from The Netherlands after an agreement between the two governments.

The deal was reached between Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi and his Dutch counterpart Jan Peter Balkenende during a summit in Brussels.

Speaking during a press conference in Brussels today, Dr Gonzi said Malta would buy some of Holland’s extra stock of anti-swine flu vaccines.

A number of countries, including the UK and the US, have already started vaccinating their population against the H1N1 virus, which is causing a global pandemic after it was identified in Mexico last April.
