Malta places third in a European Central Bank ranking of Europe’s wealthiest households, after Luxembourg and Cyprus.
Germany is at the bottom of the list with household net wealth of €51,400 compared to Luxembourg’s €397,800.
The report focused solely on the wealth of private households.
It found Maltese household wealth at €215,900.
The report is based on 2010 figures and includes property costs. Data was affected by factors such as home ownership, which is high in Malta and low in Germany.
