The following are the top stories on the Maltese newspapers today.

Times of Malta says the prime minister's chief of staff faces a fine for breaching a tax law by not immediately declaring his New Zealand fund.  

The Malta Independent says just under half of people interviewed in a survey want the prime minister to dismiss his chief of staff.  22.9 per cent said 'no'.  The rest do not know.

In-Nazzjon says the government is in crisis and the prime minister had six hours of meetings with his Cabinet yesterday. It also reports how former EU Commissioner John Dalli lost a European Court appeal over his dismissal from the European Commission.

l-orizzont leads with how the Mayor of Zurrieq was sent to prison 'by mistake'. It also reports that the poverty rate has dropped for the first time in 10 years.
