The following are the top stories in the Maltese newspapers today.

Times of Malta reports on a misallocation of NGO funds by the Gozo Ministry. It also gives prominence to the resignation of the prime minister of Iceland in the wake of the Panama Papers scandal.

Times of Malta also reports how female prisoners have been paid at last for their sewing work before the Commonwealth summit.

In-Nazzjon and The Malta Independent lead with Simon Busuttil's announcement of a second national protest over the Panama scandal.

The Malta Independent also says the PN is considering legal action over a ban on political billboards.

l-orizzont says that while the PN strategy is based on invented scandals, minister Konrad Mizzi has launched libel proceedings against Times of Malta.

MaltaToday says senior ministers want Konrad Mizzi to resign but they stand with the prime minister. The ministers are Louis Grech, George Vella, Evarist Bartolo and Leo Brincat. The newspaper also says that trustee owners of Panama firms had been granted wide investment powers.
