The following are the top stories in the Maltese newspapers.

Times of Malta reports that political pressure may force the police commissioner to resign. It also says that a whistleblower is receiving a state salary as well as having been given €1m in government contracts.

MaltaToday says the prime minister had regained trust, possibly as a result of his performance during the PN no confidence motion debate but the majority of people want minister Konrad Mizzi and chief of staff Keith Schembri out. 

The Malta Independent says Labour would win by 10,000 votes if a general election was held today. It says its survey shows the PN loses votes to Marlene Farrugia and undecided voters.  

KullHadd says the former government had tried, but failed, to attract investment by Chinese phone-maker Huawei.

Il-Mument says were people are shocked that members of the security service were caught spying when a crowd gather outside the law courts, and the service itself it embarrassed to have been found out, saying its officers had been monitoring a dangerous person.

It-Torca says Enemed will spend €15m to improve fuel storage at the airport. 

Illum quotes Mario de Marco saying he would resign from the PN if asked by Simon Busuttil.
