The organisers of The Malta Music Awards 2010 this week announced that this year’s event will take place at the MFCC, Ta’ Qali on Saturday, November 27 from 8.15 p.m. onwards.

“The Malta Music Awards were first held in 1995 with the aim of acknowledging the Maltese music scene,” MMA’s chairman Noel Magri said.

“Fifteen years had gone by and since then, this has grown into one of the most sought-after national music events,” he added.

This years’ edition is also bringing another decade to an end, as a new award will be introduced. This award, which represents a percentage of public voting, is The Artist of the Decade. The public can vote via SMS on 50615030.

Event director Carlo Borg Bonaci said: “Our 15th anniversary show will be hosting the biggest number of awards ever. Moreover, an impressive line-up by Malta’s top artists will make this a spectacular event. Anthony Costa, former member to UK boy band Blue, will be the special guest, performing hits from the band’s discography.”

PBS also confirmed that TVM will be once again broadcasting the event on a later date which is still yet to be announced.
