Malta and India have signed an agreement on the waiver of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic passports.

"The agreement is envisaged to ease travel restrictions, thus facilitating bilateral cooperation and enhancing political and diplomatic exchanges between the two countries," the Foreign Ministry said.

The agreement was reached in talks between Foreign Minister George Vella and Indian Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid on the margins of the 11thAsia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Foreign Ministers Meeting currently being held in New Delhi.
