The eighth edition of the Malta iGaming Seminar will take place at the Grand Masters Suite, Hilton Malta between November 7 and 9. This was announced by Jeffrey Buttigieg, director of Migs and COO of Remax Malta, during a press conference held in conjunction with the Malta Gaming Authority chairman Joseph Cuschieri.

Mr Buttigieg said: “We are delighted to host the eighth edition of the Malta iGaming Seminar, a seminar that started as a local event aimed at educating foreign investors to relocate to Malta and has become an international event where delegates and speakers converge to discuss, network and debate regulatory gaming policy, latest trends and technology of the global gaming industry.”

The event will be hosted by A. J. Thompson, an iGaming veteran and two of the world’s leading experts in global gaming, Michael Caselli and Sue Schneider. MiGS16 will be spread over a three-day programme covering topics from regulatory and taxation to eSports, virtual currencies and block chain and player retention.

Mr Cuschieri said: “We are pleased to be supporting MiGS for the eighth year. I believe such an event has placed Malta on the international scene for high-quality gaming events both in terms of content and high profile of speakers and attendees. I believe MiGS is an ideal platform for all those involved in the remote gaming Industry to network, learn and share relevant information and knowledge.”

Michael Pederson, regional business manager of NetEnt, announced that the organisers would also be launching a new initiative to promote employees working in the Maltese iGaming community. This will consist of an awards gala dinner called iGaming Idol. This event will be supported by Video Slots as lead sponsor, together with the Malta Gaming Authority, NetEnt and others.

The awards event will be the first of its kind in the iGaming industry and are aimed at recognising individuals in every sector of an iGaming operation. Employers or colleagues will be able to nominate outstanding individuals working within an iGaming company. Nominees of the award will then have to prove themselves in front of a panel of expert judges and will be drilled on a number of tasks relevant to their job description.

iGaming Idol has been built on three pillars, namely recognition to employees, charity, where from each ticket there will be a donation to charity, namely the Malta Community Chest Fund, and entertainment. The event will take place on November 8.
