Malta is getting a €2million reduction in its contribution to the EU for this year as a refund from last year's EU budget surplus.

The European Parliament decided today that the member states will be refunded a total of €4.54 billion, of which  €2.72 billion are from the budget surplus and the rest are funds collected from fines, interest and exchange gains.
