Air Malta has sponsored six eight-page features on Malta to be published in the Lufthansa in-flight magazine, a spokesman for the Maltese carrier said yesterday.

The features will promote various aspects of Malta's tourism products including sun and sea, heritage, culture, sport tourism and hospitality. The spokesman said the features were intended as an "essential destination guide to Malta and Gozo"

Appearing in the European edition of the Lufthansa in-flight magazine, the Malta features would reach a captive audience of Europe's wealthiest and most influential travellers, the spokesman added. Lufthansa carries five million passengers a month.

The features will appear in October and December and in the monthly editions of February, April, June and September.

Lufthansa is the biggest code-share partner of Air Malta along with other Star Alliance carriers like Brussels Airlines, bmi, Turkish Airlines and Swiss. Sixty per cent of Air Malta's current schedule is code-shared.
