During a MFA council meeting convened last Tuesday, president Dr Joe Mifsud announced that a three-man commission has been set up to study the report of a survey recently submitted to the association by MISCO.

The survey on Maltese football, commissioned by the MFA earlier this year, is intended to look into the state of the game in Malta, focusing particularly on interest in the local competitions and attendances for matches in our stadia.

The setting up of this commission follows a meeting by top MFA officials with the presidents of the Premier League clubs over the weekend.

The commission is formed of Alex Manfrè, the MFA honorary treasurer, Victor Zammit, president of Birkirkara FC and Antoine Attard, Hamrun Spartans FC president.

The members of the commission will use the results of the MISCO survey and consult a wide cross-section of people and other interested parties involved in the game, including members of the media.

The information gathered will eventually form a 'think tank' which will help the association draw conclusions and implement recommendations aimed at reviving the game of football in Malta.
