Legal practitioners in the field of employment law have formed a new association, the Malta Employment Lawyers' Association, with the main aim of presenting a unified voice in lobbying with the government and other authorities on the implementation and the application of employment legislation and regulations.

The association was formed by nine founding members: Dr Andrew Borg Cardona; Dr Christine Calleja; Dr Charlotte Camilleri; Dr Lorna Mifsud Cachia; Dr Ian Spiteri Bailey; Dr Karl Briffa; Dr Lara Pace; Dr Matthew Brincat and Dr Paul Gonzi.

Dr Brincat has been appointed chairperson while Dr Gonzi is general secretary.

Membership is open to all lawyers practising in the area of employment law.
