The Malta Council for Culture and the Arts has a new website at www.maltaculture.com.
The council supports national festivals and offers funding support to artists through the Malta Arts Fund and the Arts Scholarships. It was felt that an upgrade to its web presence was required as many more people rely solely on the internet to learn about organisations they are interested in. More so, leveraging on the internet's reach may help the organisation in reaching its core audience and engaging with it in a more interactive fashion.
Since the MCCA is primarily a body concerned with all that is artistic, a delicate balance between ease-of-use, availability of information and an artistic look and feel was required. Web development company ICON were entrusted with the task of coming up with the new website.
Beneath the blue and grey aesthetic lie the gears that power the engine. ICON SNAP, the robust and easy to use content-management-system built and developed by ICON, makes updating the site's content an extremely simple task.
The portal is an excellent liaison point for anyone with enquiries, most especially about funding opportunities and is also a one-stop shop for connecting with the MCCA using social networks, including Twitter, YouTube, Google Calendar and Facebook.
