Malta-based AirX has been named among the top 10 private air charter companies in the world by the online magazine Billionaire.com.

Described as a newcomer on the scene, Billionaire.com remarked that AirX is a private air charter operator offering excellent service and high safety standards. The review said, “it is no wonder AirX is fast becoming a favourite of the jet set”.

AirX has its head office at the Cottonera Waterfront.

Chairman John B. Matthews said that out of the 831 operators in the world offering private jet charter services only 10 made it to the top of Billionaire’s listing.

"It is an extraordinary achievement for AirX to be recognised amongst the world’s 10 best private jet charter companies in the world. This is further recognition of our first class service and position as market leaders worldwide.”

AirX provides private charter flights across Europe, including to A-list celebrities, such as Hollywood movie stars, pop artists, royal families, top corporate executives, sport teams and government ministers.

The company obtained its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) from the Civil Aviation Directorate and Transport Malta in May 2013.

It is currently expanding its fleet and workforce as part of a strategic growth plan to become the leading private air charter operator in Europe and beyond.

AirX currently employs 158 full time personnel, including 24 Maltese.

To date, it operates 12 aircraft: 3 Boeing 737 aircraft, 3 Legacy 600, 4 Challenger 850, and 2 Cessna Citation X. Three fourths of its fleet is registered on the Maltese aviation register.
