Wardens may be the cause of frustration for many motorists but a survey has found that 64 per cent of people believe the enforcement system is fair. The survey, commissioned by the Local Council Parliamentary Secretariat, found that just over a quarter think the warden system is unfair.

The findings also show that 66 per cent believe the system is transparent. The survey, commissioned by Local Government Parliamentary Secretariat, polled 400 respondents aged between 20 and 45 and was carried out in December.

It found that 86 per cent knew of their right to contest fines and 57 per cent of these did.
