BUPA Luxol and Depiro McDonald's retained the Super Cup after they had the better of Depiro and Hibs Medsea in yesterday's finals at the Ta' Qali Pavilion.

In the men's showdown, Luxol proved too strong for Depiro. Spurred on by Marko Matijevic, scorer of 22 points, Luxol cruised to a comfortable 82-53 win.

The women's final was more balanced. Hibs Medsea started brightly but Depiro raised their game to bridge the gap to just three points at half-time, 36-33. After going 51-46 ahead at the start of the third session, Depiro maintained their momentum to beat their rivals 64-57 and capture their first honour of the season. Depiro's Kalia Agius was the game's top scorer with 26 points.
