After two successful concert tours to Bulgaria and Puerto Rico, the Lufthansa Orchestra will give a concert at the Mediterranean Conference Centre today. For its concert titled Sky Classics, the ensemble, founded in 2011, will be supported by members of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and Ivan Grech of Winter Moods, who will entertain the audience with a selection of his hits.

The evening’s programme will include classics like Beethoven’s 5th Symphony 1st Movement and Slavonic Dances by Dvorak, as well as film scores from Pirates of the Caribbean and James Bond. The concert will be conducted by Colin Touchin, British composer, clarinettist and the ensemble’s chief conductor.

The Lufthansa orchestra is made up of Lufthansa employees, including pilots, cabin crew, engineers, mechanics, finance executives and project managers.
