Lufthansa flight attendants went on strike at Germany's busiest airport today, causing the cancellation of dozens of flights.

The cabin crews walked out at Frankfurt airport early this morning in an eight-hour stoppage.

The UFO union said it would continue to stage short-term strikes until its demands for better pay and conditions for some 18,000 cabin crew at the airline, Germany's largest, are met.

Lufthansa said it has cancelled about a quarter of the 360 flights which were scheduled during the strike hours, all short and middle-distance routes.
