Brussels Airlines has relocated to Terminal 2 at Munich, which is used exclusively by Lufthansa and its partners.

The move places the partnership between the two carriers on a broader footing and will allow Brussels Airlines passengers to enjoy the full benefits of Lufthansa's hub in Southern Germany.

Passengers will begin their journey on Level 03, where check-in for flights operated by Star Alliance member airlines takes place. This means that transit passengers will no longer need to transfer between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, making changing planes in Munich much more convenient when connecting times are tight.

Brussels Airlines passengers with a Platinum or Gold status who are flying Business Class will be able to use Lufthansa Lounges in Terminal 2. Lufthansa and Brussels Airlines will operate a total of nine flights per day between Brussels and Munich on a codeshare basis. Lufthansa passengers travelling from Munich will also have a choice of further Brussels Airlines flights from Munich to Brussels plus connections to many destinations in Africa.

Since the introduction of the summer timetable, Lufthansa and Brussels Airlines have offered their customers numerous benefits, including codeshare services on cross-border routes.

Lufthansa, Brussels Airlines and Swiss are now giving members of their respective frequent flyer programmes the option of earning and redeeming miles on all Lufthansa and Brussels Airlines flights between Germany and Belgium and to further destinations in Europe.

Miles & More members, for instance, can earn award miles, status miles or Hon Circle miles on all flights operated by Brussels Airlines. Under the cooperation agreement, Miles & More award flights can now also be booked with Brussels Airlines. From the end of October, Privilege, the loyalty programme operated by Brussels Airlines, will be fully integrated into Miles & More Lufthansa's frequent flyer scheme.

Lufthansa and Brussels Airlines passengers are now entitled to an even wider choice of services and greater flexibility. Fares offered by both carriers on cross-border routes will be combinable. That means that passengers can, for example, fly Lufthansa from Munich to Brussels and take a return flight with Brussels Airlines. On this route, the two partners currently operate 11 codeshare services a day. Both airlines plan to harmonise their schedules more closely.
