Former TV presenter and chairman of Radio 101 Lou Bondi has had his contract to serve as consultant to the Office of the Prime Minister renewed for another year.

For his services, Mr Bondi will be pocketing €54,000, excluding VAT. This consists of a monthly remuneration of €3,813, plus an annual €8,240 retainer to cover his operational expenses.

Although government spokesman Carmelo Abela has repeatedly refused to reply to questions by Times of Malta on whether Mr Bondi has been awarded a new contract, this newspaper has now been given access to the new contract, following a request under the Freedom of Information Act.

According to the new contract, signed between Mr Bondi and civil service head Mario Cutajar, the former Bondiplus host will be serving as a consultant to the OPM’s Fondazzjoni Ċelebrazzjonijiet Maltin until the middle of next year.
