A lotto player has won a jackpot of €640,000 at the Saturday draw, Malto Lotteries said. His winning numbers were 9 - 19 -29 - 46.

This was the biggest Quaterno jackpot won so far.

The winner, who purchased the ticket from an agent in Ħamrun on the same morning of the draw, was quoted by Maltco as saying: “I have never won anything in my life, more so such an exceptionally big amount!”

No details of the person were given.

Maltco’s general director, Mario Cassar, said the Quaterno game was steadily increasing in popularity with the players following the enhancements introduced last year which not only saw the Jackpot increase to a minimum of €200,000 but gave players more chances to win with three and also two numbers. “It is expected that, as more players play the game as they become aware of its good chances of winning, the Quaterno Jackpot will start being won more frequently,” he said.

A Bingo75 player made what was probably Malta's biggest ever bingo snowball by marking all 24 numbers within the first 50 numbers drawn on March 30 to win €84,678.20.
