A temporary agreement has been reached between the Lotto Receivers’ Union, UHM and Maltco representatives to hold further discussions for a permanent solutions to the dispute between them to be found.

The issue escalated yesterday when most lotto receivers had their computer terminal switched off by Maltco yesterday because they failed to sign a new agreement on time.

Following a mediation meeting led by Finance Minister Tonio Fenech this afternoon, all parties agreed to hold further discussions for a permanent agreement to be found within two weeks.

In the meantime, the lotto receivers will sign an interim agreement covering the next two weeks to enable Maltco to immediately restore its services to receivers.
