Topics such as new technology trends, corporate social responsibility, legal matters, the future of lotteries and loyalty programmes, marketing and communications were discussed at the 12th European Lotteries University held in Malta.
Keynote addresses on the subjects tackled were delivered by practitioners and leading experts working or consulting with lotteries.
In his keynote address on gaming and risk management, Mario Cassar, general director of Maltco Lotteries, stressed the importance of risk management for the design and evolution of lottery games. He also emphasised its importance for the games' public image and acceptance because of its direct bearing on matters relating to social responsibility.
Attending the event, hosted by Maltco Lotteries, were over 40 participants from more than 20 countries in Europe and Canada.
The ELU has the objective of providing expert and updated insights into the lottery and gaming industry, providing participants with a unique forum to network and exchange ideas and to enhance their general business and managerial skills and knowledge.
