Loom charms tested by the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority have been found to contain phthalates in amounts which exceed the limits allowed by law.

The MCCAA recalled the charms from the market and advised consumers to remove these products from the reach of children and return them to the place of purchase.

It said that all brands sampled and tested were found to have phthalate concentrations exceeding the legal limit.

The authority warned economic operators that enforcement and legal action would be taken if these products were placed on the market or supplied in any way.
