There were 106 long-term patients at Mater Dei Hospital and 109 at Karen Grech Hospital waiting to be transferred to other facilities in October last year, Health Minister Konrad Mizzi told Opposition MP Claudio Grech in reply to parliamentary questions.

The comparative numbers in November were 102 and 111, respectively.

The minister said 128 patients had been transferred from Mater Dei and 151 from Karen Grech in October.

The number of transfers in November stood at 82 and 92, respectively.
