The 2012 London Games are on track but organisers must sort out the city's transport problems to ensure athletes get to their events on time, Olympic chiefs said.

International Olympic Committee heads, including IOC president Jacques Rogge, have just finished a four-day visit to London to check up on progress in the build-up to the Games.

They visited the Olympic Park in east London, including the Olympic Stadium and other venues under construction.

IOC coordination commission chairman Denis Oswald said they were happy with the progress but were concerned about the British capital's road network.

"Traffic is an issue," Oswald said.

"There are many, many cars coming into the city every day and the roads are rather narrow.

"We will have to find solutions to make sure that the athletes are on time for their competitions and that all the people having a role to play in the organisation of the Games will be transported smoothly.
