These are the main reports from today's local newspapers:

The explosive device which caused an explosion outside the garage of a businessman in Gozo dominated the front pages of all newspapers.

Times of Malta reports that the explosion which targeted Sandro Ciliberti may have been connected to the deckchair concession in Comino he was awarded last summer. It also cited a report issued by credit ratings agency Standard & Poor's yesterday, which forecasted Malta's economy to grow by 2.8 per cent each year.

While carrying three pictures on its front page in connection with the Gozo explosion, In-Nazzjon reports that the head of the new enforcement agency, the former police commissioner Ray Zammit, yesterday dodged reporters who were keen on asking hi questions.

On the other hand, L-Orizzont asks whether the bomb placed in Gozo was related to Mr Ciliberti's business connections in Libya. It also reports the positive report given to Malta by ratings agency Standards & Poor's.

The Malta Independent also reports that former police commissioner failed to face the press yesterday. It also quotes the Nationalist Party saying that MP and surgeon Albert Fenech's employment at the new public hospital was in the national interest.
